#VolunteersWeekScot

VASA said: ”An amazing army of volunteers were honoured this week for their tireless work throughout the Covid pandemic.
To celebrate national Volunteers’ Week, VASA hosted three outdoor awards events – one in Kirkmichael and two at Rozelle in Ayr, to say ‘thank you’ to the local heroes who have stepped up to support people in communities across South Ayrshire.
Over the three events, 286 volunteers were treated to afternoon tea on the lawn, entertainment and a huge round of applause as their names were read out in a roll of honour.
”Paying tribute to the award winners, Marie Oliver, Chief Executive Officer of VASA, said: “The South Ayrshire Volunteer Awards are a chance for us to say a very big thank you to the people who give their time so generously to help others, and this past year has highlighted more than ever just how valuable their contribution is.
“Volunteers have been vital in supporting their communities through the pandemic and it is no exaggeration to say that we couldn’t have got through it without them.
“From delivering food and prescriptions to befriending calls and checking on the vulnerable and isolated, each one of our local volunteers has made a real difference and we hope these awards let them know how much they are appreciated.”
Congratulations to all our amazing North Carrick Volunteers!
