It is believed that Robert the Bruce, arguably one of Scotland’s greatest kings, was born in North Carrick, at Turnberry Castle in 1274!
This year, on the 750th anniversary of his birth, we are promoting North Carrick as the Birthplace of Bruce with a Festival at The Glebe, Maybole on 13th July 12pm-5pm. The aim of this and other activities is that North Carrick will become known as ‘Bruce Country’ and more people will visit. 🏰
We hope local people and visitors will join us for a FREE afternoon of jousting, history demonstrations, and fun activities for all ages 🎉
