Merkland Farm Feeds opened its doors to the public in 1990, supplying a small range of horse and pet food.
Over the years we have become a more specialised retailer to the horse owners market. We now stock a wide range of horse feed, bedding and supplements along with our highest quality home grown hay and haylage.
We also cater for all your smaller pets needs. Holding a wide range of dog, cat and small animal feeding and accessories, along side our range of small holder and farm animal feeds and accessories.
We pride ourselves in our fast and friendly service offering a free local delivery on purchases over £150.

Supplier of lobster and brown crab. Other species available seasonally.
Company Bio
We are based in Dunure and fish locally for sustainably caught seafood. Our primary catch is lobster and brown crab, however we line fish for mackerel seasonally and land other species including velvet crabs and horse whelks.
We sell our catch both locally, to restaurants and individual purchasers, and also to processors for export to Asia.
All undersized catch is returned to the sea unharmed, ensuring stocks for future years.
Opening Hours
We land 3 or 4 times a week. The harbour is tidal so landing times vary. Please check our Facebook page for most current information. We are happy to provide shellfish direct from the boat, ensuring freshest produce possible.
